British people I want your opinion

Would you consider yourself European? 

Obviously the UK is part of Europe, and therefore obviously British people are European but I don’t really… 

Although I would accept that I am technically European, I would never choose to call myself that… it just feels kinda weird lol. I think it’s like being British and being European are two different things? Do you guys feel this way? 

Do you feel a little weird being called European? Or is it just me? 

I’m swedish and wouldn’t call my self europén, at least not as a description of my self. I might go so far as to call my self “scandinavian” though.
But this question brings up another question:
If you’re speaking about a person from, say, Uganda or Mongolia don’t you use the epitath “african” or “asian”?
If you do, it seems like double standards to be “offended” if someone where to call you european.
